I LOVE Autumn!!!

Autumn Kitty SOLD

I love the colors of Autumn! Oregon is gorgeous in the Fall, with the golds, reds and oranges blazing on the hillsides against a bright blue sky. It's like a beautiful Impressionistic painting. The color has inspired a black kitty painting with an abstract, Autumn colored background. Kitty really pops against the bright color. I hope he brings a smile or two. :-)

Have a wonderful day!!!

September 11, 2001

I can't believe it's been 8 years. As we often say, "It seems like it was yesterday". I remember standing in front of the television...with tears in my eyes and a knot in my stomach. My way of handling the horror and pain...two paintings... painted that day... that I have never shared, but want to share now.

Getting Ready...

Here is the first photo of my Table Leg Doll... Of course, if it goes well, I'm going to have to sculpt some Cat Table Leg Dolls...we'll see. Oh, and GusGus is resting in the sun...getting ready for his walk tonight!

Checking In

Paintings SOLD

We have a lot going on lately, so I haven't had a chance to check in. The 'fun' has been visiting with Family and Friends. The 'Work' is tiling our shower/bath and getting ready for new carpet in two of our bedrooms...need to do some wall painting...which I'm very slow at. More fun...a few paintings in progress, and I've started my 'Table Leg Doll' from Jane's class. I'll have to post a before picture. OH, and I almost forgot all of the yard work...which I need to get to before our daughter goes back to college. She's holding down the coffee shop, so I can get a few things done.

We've, also, started walking the hills in our neighborhood. The dogs LOVE IT! We get the leash out and they start jumping up and down for joy! GusGus thinks I'm too slow...I haven't ran in 5 years...so it's going to be a while until I can keep up with him! The Vet did say he had the little legs of an athlete. I'll have to try to get a picture of him on a walk. He's just so HAPPY...I laugh the whole time watching him.

Ok, back to work! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Two new POODLE paintings

Poodle Paintings SOLD

I've been inspired by Poodles, lately...and I have two new poodle paintings. The poodles just happen to be black and white...and I love black and white! I did add a green butterfly to the ACEO painting...but while working on the two poodle painting...it just felt like it should stay totally black and white...so here they are.

Have a good night...

The Espresso Shop Kitty

The hot weather in Oregon this year has been wonderful for growing flowers. I wish I'd known how great it was going to be and I would have planted more! Well, I finally remembered to take a few pictures of the Espresso Shop with the flowers, and the Espresso Shop Kitty. I showed pictures of Rudy...the white kitty that came to the shop and went home with me. Well, now we have Kitty at the shop. (The word is out, I guess) She was afraid of us, at first, but after finding out that we would feed her, she's now our friend. I hope to find a good home for her before the weather changes, but if I don't... she'll, most likely, go home with me, too. Eight IS my favorite number. My GusGus won't be happy though.

Have a great weekend!!!

A Quick Hello...

Paintings SOLD

Hi!

I promised to make chocolate chip meringues and zucchini lasagna before I go to town, but I wanted to stop and say hello...and share my new little mini poodle painting. It's only 2 inches square, and it was so much fun to paint! Do I keep saying that? I just love to paint, so it's always FUN!!!

If I can get some interesting pictures of the meringues...I'll post those later. Guess I should get them baked first. Meringues have been one of my favorite desserts for as long as I can remember. I haven't made them in years, though, so we shall see how they look for pictures.

IT'S FRIDAY!!!

PAINTING SOLD

Yea! It's Friday!!! I'm looking forward to getting my hair cut, going to lunch with a friend and, hopefully, painting the rest of the day! Our daughter is working at the espresso shop, so Mom is going to have some fun!

I just finished a new, large, butterfly painting. I'm calling it, "Five Butterflies". It's 6" X 12", so much bigger than my recent 2" and 3" paintings. It was fun to paint, and I hope you enjoy it. Rudy and butterflies are still inspiring me, but..... I saw five of the most adorable little poodles at the groomers yesterday...so I'm feeling more poodle paintings coming! They must have been a poodle family...all groomed and beautiful...looking through the kennel door for their person to come and rescue them.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I'm still having fun painting Butterflies! Here are two more butterfly paintings...a Westie and a Frida Cat. I hope they bring a smile or two... Now I'm off to bed, because tomorrow I get to paint ALL DAY LONG!!! Except for some cooking, laundry and playing with the fur family. I can't wait! Have a great rest of your weekend! Deb

Inspired by Butterflies!

I, like most people, have always loved Butterflies! So full of color, and it's fun to watch them flittering around the equally gorgeous flowers. I feel so inspired and excited and cannot wait to paint more of the images floating around in my mind. I'm supposed to be outside working... I can hear my husband moving the fern that I said...We should move. Guess I had better get going, and I'll get my paints out in a bit. My new "Butterflies" painting is listed on eBay. It's been a while since I've sold there, so thought I'd better brush up on the process. They've changed a few things!

Happy Friday!!!

I think this week has gone faster than any week this year!!! I have had a bit more time to paint...maybe that's why. Hours can go by, while painting, and it seems like minutes. It's the BEST!!! Here are two new kitties. Louie became one of my all-time favorites as he appeared on the canvas. I hope he brings a smile or two for others, as well.

Have a great weekend!!!

PS Just finished another Kitty with A Butterfly...

Fashion Poodle and White Cat

A Poodle of a different color...and a white Cat. I had a lot of fun painting this duo. Kind of different and fun...a little Retro, maybe?

I, also, took a picture of the lace cap hydrangea at our espresso shop. The customers and I have been enjoying it, so much, this year. I think I will be planting a lot more hydrangeas at home...they are one of my favorite flowers.

A new POODLE painting

I just love the word...POODLE. It's just fun to say, and Poodles are fun to have around. My GusGus is half Poodle. His dad, George, is an apricot poodle, his mom is a black maltese. GusGus takes after his dad...except for his amazing tail. He's very proud of his wonderful tail, and doesn't like anyone to touch it. He's very cute. Back to the new painting....It's painted on a mini gallery wrapped canvas and it was a lot of fun to paint. Some paintings you hate to see come to an end...like a good book. Poodle is now in my ArtFire Store. Be back soon!

Good Morning

SOLD
I haven't been around lately because it's a very busy time in our family right now. My niece, Jana, is getting married on Saturday, and our daughter is here from Penn State! FUN times!!! I did add a new kitty painting to my etsy store...a gray kitty. I have one more, almost finished, so hopefully I will have time to add it to my store tonight.

I'll share some of our wedding photos next week! Weddings are so much fun!

Have a great week!!!

Rudy Inspired Painting

SOLD

Good Morning!

I just finished my first Rudy inspired painting. Rudy is the kitty that was living at our espresso shop, but is now living with us. The girls wanted to name him Farcus...after the character in A Christmas Story...he had yellow eyes. I didn't like that so much, so his name is Rudy Farcus. Whatever his name...he is a wonderful guy and we love him!

Have a wonderful day! I'm off to vacuum up Rudy fur before the boys from England get here. Our youngest daughter met Daniel while working at Disney World. They were both in the college program. Daniel and two of his friends are visiting us in Oregon! I hear one of the boys loves dogs...he's coming to the right house...we have 4 now.

Art for your refrigerator

Good Morning! I thought I would share my new magnets, before I head out this morning. Both of the original paintings were commissioned pieces. A sister commissioned 'Pets in Paris' for her brother, and a friend commissioned 'SISTERS' for her best friend. The 'Coffee Bug' artwork being shown is by my very talented granddaughter, Maddie. Have a great Sunday!

It's Friday, again!

I really can't believe how fast the time is flying by! It has me thinking that I need to get busy doing the things that I want to do...not just the things that I have to do...the 'in a rut things'. Maybe I'll have to PAINT on this... hmmmmmmm?

While I'm thinking about this...I have a new kitty painting to share. He's a little different, not so whimsical. A very colorful guy.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

New Poodle Painting

It's been a long time since I've painted a poodle. My grandmother had a standard poodle named Sam... he was the smartest dog I've ever known. We spent many happy hours playing games with Sam... like hide the dog toy, and I don't know how he did it, but he would always find his toy. We didn't make it easy on him either.

Two New Mini Paintings

Both paintings SOLD

Hello!

It seems like it's taken me forever to finish these two tiny paintings! Life can be so busy...too busy! We did make the time to take our two grandchildren to see the movie, "UP", and we highly recommend it! What a great movie and a great day. The Pizza and Ice Cream were pretty good too!

I'm off to the Espresso Shop... I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Oh...paintings are in my Etsy and FireArt shops.

It's FRIDAY!!!

YEA! We have a long weekend! Well, I work today and tomorrow, but NOT on Monday! It's rare that I have two days off in a row, so I'm really looking forward to time with family, and relaxing(? If I remember how to?) a bit.

I have two NEW prints to share (Arty's Glasses and King Cake), and I've relisted one of my favorite prints, "Love You". They are now in my Etsy and ArtFire shops.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, with lots of family, fun and fabulous food!!!

My GusGus and his new haircut

It seems like I'm always on the run, and I'm running late, again! I wanted to share a couple of photos of my GusGus before I leave this morning. He's the sweetest guy and one of my best friends.

Happy Monday!

SOLD

SOLD

This has been a busy Monday morning! I have a lot to share, but I think I will talk about my new mini paintings first. (I really need to work out before heading to the espresso shop!) I'll try to post the rest tonight or tomorrow morning.

I really love the mini canvases that I found at Dick Blick! They are gallery wrapped and are much easier for me to manage at the shop! So here are three that I have just added to my Etsy and Art Fire shops.

It's so beautiful here today! I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!

#5 KING CAKE Mardi Gras Pet Series

This painting SOLD!
Hi!

Life has been so busy lately, but I finally finished #5, KING CAKE, in my Mardi Gras Pet series. It's now in my Art Fire Store. I'm, also, working on some tiny, 2X2 inch, paintings that are a lot of fun. I hope to post those by Monday. On the yard art.... I do have some tin now, but it's so sharp!!! Need to find a welder, I think. I have some other ideas, too. I just need more hours in the day! Don't we all...

Have a fantastic Weekend! It's supposed to be in the 80s here! Finally! My flowers are doing great, and I hope to post some pictures of them soon.

Arty's Glasses

SOLD!
I really enjoy painting faces, always have. Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed, or I need to relax and not think for a while...I paint a face. Here is my new little mini painting, "Arty's Glasses".

I hope everyone's having a relaxing, wonderful Sunday!
