Day 4 #The100DayProject

Here is Day 4 of #The100DayProject .  My inspiration is my 3 year old granddaughter, Nora.  She's such a sweetheart, and I love her expressions.  I'm trying to challenge myself with the 100 day project, and try different things.  It's really fun experimenting, and I'm having fun with this painting, for sure.

#The100DayProject

On Monday, April 6th I joined The 100 Day Project.  We had to pick a project, mine is painting, and complete, and post on Instagram, what we have done each day.  It's now Day 4, so I will post the photos from the past 3 Days...and, hopefully keep up for the next 96 days. You can follow along on Instagram using this LINK, too.  You can, also, follow these links #The100DayProject and #100DaysofPaintingByDebHarvey  It's fun seeing what everyone is posting.  Some are cooking, some exercising...It's a great way to motivate yourself.  There's still time to join in!!!

Spring Inspired Paintings

I love the Spring flowers, and the emerald green hills, in Oregon.  It's a beautiful time of year, and has inspired my new, colorful paintings.  They are still a work in progress, but I thought I would post them.  Well, two of them...there are several I have going in my mind.

My Cat First Painting in 2015

"My Cat" is not the first painting I started in 2015, but it's the first painting I completed.  It was a lot of fun to create.  I used several different papers and acrylic paint, on watercolor paper.  And, this painting is framed!  I hope everyone is having a great week!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!!!

I was thinking about this past year today,  and how I want my life to be in 2015.  Three songs, that were very popular this year, came to mind.  Happy, Shake it Off, and Let it go.  All of these songs provide a great message, and I am thinking this is what I want 2015 to look like.  The songs are saying... Don't let fear run your life, and be Happy!  Good advice, and I'm going to take it.

I plan to post more often, and I am looking forward to reading your blogs, and visiting more.

So, have a wonderful New Years' Eve, and a Happy New Years' Day!!!!!

Autumn and Nibblefest

It's raining!!!  We have had a very dry Summer, and the rain feels so good.  The leaves are starting to change color, too, and I'm thinking about making soup.  It's my favorite time of the year!  On another note...I was going to post my Nibblefest entry for this month, the other day, and didn't get around to it.  The theme is Furry Friends, and my furry friend is a cat woman I call Ruby.  She reminds me of our Rudy, who is helping me out in the photo.  There are a lot of great paintings this month; if you're looking for art.  Have a wonderful rest of your week!!!

Nibblefest Time!

Hi!  I know, it's been a really long time since I've been here.  Life has been very busy, Business has picked up, and, like many, I've been spending more time on Facebook.  But, it's Nibblefest Time!  I want to share this month's entry, "Forest Creature".  My creature is a little, kind of abstract, Fox.  He was fun to create using papers, ink, watercolor pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint, stamps, and pencil.

I hope everyone has been doing well, and enjoying Summer.  I hope to catch up with you all soon!

Spring Is Here!

It has been a very long, very wet Winter in Oregon, and I am so excited about Spring!  I've been cleaning, not only our home, my studio and our yard, but my Artwork, too.  Not so much cleaning in the typical sense, but opening up for change, and growth.  One way I am working toward growth is I am taking a class taught by Juliette Crane, called Bliss.  I love Juliette's loose, colorful style, and think it's a perfect way to remember how to play with Art.  I just happen to have a massive amount of Art Supplies, that have never been touched, and I am having a great time experimenting.  Here are two Journal Sketches I've created in the past two days.  If you would like to have fun, too, check out Juliette's class...you will have fun!

POPPY The Westie Painting

The name, "Poppy" came to me while painting this little guy.  Poppy is a West Highland White Terrier, or Westie, as they are commonly called.  He is now in my Etsy shop!  It's been a while since I've had new paintings for my shop, so I'm excited.  LOL!  I'm working on three more small paintings, so stay tuned!

New Studio

WOW!  It's been a while since I've been here.  We've had a couple of family members going through some health issues, helped move two of our daughters, and I have moved my studio to a space that is a little bigger!  The snow and ice have slowed us down, a bit...like most everyone else.  I am so happy that it's starting to warm up!!!  We are now looking forward to the Holidays, and fun with family and friends!  Here are a few photos of the new studio, snow, and my GusGus...he's ready for Christmas!
Still some work to do...but, it's close!

Everything has a place!

Still have to get paintings on the wall...

All ready for Christmas!

And, it's still here a week later!

GusGus loves looking out this window

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, Everyone!!!  I hope you all have an amazing day!  I plan to go Trick or Treating with my adorable grand kids...so, it's going to be a fun evening!!!

I have a new painting that I just listed in my Etsy shop, too. "PUPPY LOVE" I went back to my old style for this one.  I love attempting to show the love between our pets and us.  I, also, love this palette...olive green, burnt sienna, burnt umber, titanium white, payne's gray, yellow ochre, gold ochre, and light cad. red.  This painting was fun, and I hope you enjoy it!

Free Shipping at Society6

Hi!  I haven't posted about it yet, but I've opened a Society6 Shop, and I have had fun filling it.  Still have a lot more to do, but I'm thinking they are going to be a great company to work with.  I have a link to share for Free Shipping until October 13th.  I've just ordered two bags, to see if they look as great as they do in the photos.  I like the way they look on their page!  Very cute.  Cute Pillows, too.  Another Artist has been ordering their pillow covers, and says that they are beautiful.  Here's the link if you would like to start Christmas Shopping, or are in need of tote bags, prints, or pillows!
