HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

WOW! I REALLY can't believe it's going to be 2010 in a few hours! Time is going... so fast. So, my goal for the coming year is... to enjoy every, single minute! To treat this life I've been given...with respect... Meaning, healthy choices in all areas, and making More time with Family and Friends. Being 'so very busy' is a bad excuse to neglect living a fun, creative and wonderful life. My Motto... "Live Life Creatively"and "SMILE" :-)

Someone got Creative with GusGus. Here are a few cute pictures of him. We've been too busy to get to the groomer, so my husband trimmed his bangs, and Jilly gave him a ponytail. He seems to like it.

I wish a loving, fun, exciting and very HAPPY 2010 to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snow Angel

I have a new painting to share. I'm not sure why, maybe because it's so cold here, but she reminds me of a snow angel. I'm working on a little 2" X 2" that should be finished today...a tiny fox. Well, I'm off to the Espresso shop... I hope everyone has a great day!

Merry Christmas!!!

My Wish for you... A fun filled Christmas, over-flowing with Love!

Our little Oppea loves the Christmas Tree...she's our gift under the tree. Rudy is very curious about all of the Merriment, and the dogs think we have given them a place to scratch their backs.

Merry Christmas!!!

Blueberry Scones and ICE!

I think the last time we had weather this cold, 8 degrees one morning, I was in High School. It's been a while! Last night was the worst of the worst, however, when it started to rain. We left the coffee shop around 5:45 and the roads were solid ice. It all went pretty well, until we got close to home. We live in a very hilly forest...and we slid sideways, and it seemed' every other ways' down that first steep hill. Oh My! Thanks to my husband's quick thinking we did get home safe, but I'm not going back out until the ice is gone! So, today Jilly Bean was closed, and I made Blueberry Scones.

I hope everyone is staying safe and warm this weekend!

Smile!

I must share this very happy picture, of this very happy guy...Rudy Farcus. (The girls named him Farcus from the movie, "A Christmas Story". Farcus had yellow eyes.) I must admit, it does fit his personality. He is a funny guy!!! He's always smiling and looking for fun.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Christmas Decorating Supervisors

I love decorating for Christmas! I can't say I had a lot of help this year, but I did have some company. I call them my Supervisors...they watch while I do the work. Oppea decided to take a little rest on the tree skirt I left on the coffee table, after inspecting the tree. While Rudy watched me arrange the Christmas Village, and when I wasn't looking...he hid inside the box. Gus and Rory watched for a while, but decided if food isn't involved...they'd take a nap.

We will share pictures of the decorations soon!

New Painting...."Waiting"

"WAITING". I've been thinking a lot about, "Waiting", lately. It seems that life is so busy, I find myself, "Waiting" until the day comes, instead of living the day as I want it to be.

I used a different palette with this little girl. Blue base and a golden skin color. She was fun!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Jilly Bean... Ready For The Holidays

Jilly Bean Espresso is ready for the Holidays! I couldn't get the camera to capture the homey feeling we have inside, but here is the camera's view of our decorations. It's been so cold here, in the 20s, and predicted to be 15 degrees with some snow soon. So it really feels like Christmas! It's an exciting time of year! I hope everyone has fun, and enjoys the anticipation!

Vivid Lime Green Flowers

One of my favorite paint colors is Vivid Lime Green...I just think it's such a happy color! Maybe more of a Spring or Summer color, but when my daughters and I saw Vivid Lime Green Flowers...they were our choice for our Thanksgiving table. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture of the table, but I am now enjoying them in my kitchen window, and thought I would share.

Checking In

I'm sorry that I have been away for a while. Our family has had some very sad times recently. My sweet, wonderful Mother-In-Law passed away, and my husband's cousin lost her two year old daughter to meningitis the day before. Very, very sad...

I have been working on a Christmas card that I will share in the next couple of days. A dear friend gave me a great idea, and I'm excited about it!!!

Be back soon...

The Fox in progress

I've been working on a little painting, which is a study for a larger painting called, "The Fox". I thought I would share the progress. I have painted the canvas black, cut leaves from a napkin...glued the leaves to the canvas...and started painting the Fox. More to come...

Have a wonderful Friday...and weekend!!!

Alice and Her White Cat

I didn't have a plan for this painting, it just sort of happened. When I finished it... I just kept thinking about Alice In Wonderland and the White Rabbit. In this case, a White Cat, just like my Rudy. It's now listed on eBay.

Evie and Holly

Evie is finished, and I've decided to hang her in our dining room. My thoughts, while painting her, were of Renoir's girls and his sense of color. I love the impressionistic style!

I, also, finished "Holly". She may be my Christmas Card this year... There's an odd little butterfly with Holly...

Coffee Shop/Art Studio

Well... I finally decided to turn our storage/office space at the Espresso shop into an Art Studio of sorts. It's still a little bare, but I have a lot of ideas going around in my head...so it should look more like a studio soon. We've been trying to sell the Espresso shop for 4 years now...with no luck... I think having both of my businesses in one location will be easier. So here is what I see all day, while painting between customers! Coffee Shop Kitty is still with me at the shop. She's so happy there...it's working out well with her. And, here is a picture of my new painting in progress, I'll post the finished painting tomorrow.

Something different

Hi!

I found these great little papier mache boxes and decided to give them a try. I love them! I like the texture that shows through the paint, and it was fun lining the inside. I've been wanting to do more mixed media, so this is a beginning!

Cappuccino

Most of the time I drink black, house coffee at the shop. Today I happened to find a rather unique mug that I've had for years, but forgot about...so I just had to have a cappuccino. I added whipped cream, and sprinkled raw sugar on top...it was so good!

Back To Butterflies

I am enthusiastically painting butterflies again! "Butterfly Friends" Is now listed on eBay.

Happy Tuesday!

I should be cleaning house or doing laundry before I head to the coffee shop...but I want to share my two new kitty paintings with you. I have a purple kitty wearing orange glasses, and a sleeping kitty with a heart on her chest. In 'real life'... I just love seeing all of the unique patterns in our pets' fur, like our Cleo had a gray tabby circle surrounded by white on her side...so pretty.....

Have a Happy Tuesday!!!

New Frida Cat painting

Frida Cat SOLD

Frida Kahlo's artwork is inspiring... she's one of my favorite artists. I've always enjoyed her sense of color, and she seemed to love animals as much as I do. I have a new little Frida Cat to share. She is painted on a 2x2 inch gallery wrapped canvas...very small...and so much fun to create!

Yummy Scones

When I have time, I love to watch Giada on the Food Network. The other day she made Strawberry Rosemary Scones...they looked so yummy...I had to try them. OH, MY! They are the best scones that I have ever eaten! So easy, too! The FRESH Rosemary is the secret, don't leave it out. I didn't add the jam, because they are sweet enough for me as they are. Enjoy!!! http://tinyurl.com/pes2ka
