I started out with a black canvas for Mr Moose. Something a little different for me and it was fun. I found that it was more difficult to bring the color out, of course, so Mr Moose looks better under a light. I love experimenting with color and can't wait to try the dozens/hundreds of ideas I have going around in my head. Need more hours in the day!!! It would, also, help if I weren't so scattered. I'm one of those. I head to the table to paint, see the cat, stop to talk to it, hear the dryer go off...go down stairs, run across GusGus, play with him a bit...and it's time to get to the shop! Oh well...that's where I usually paint.

You sound like me. My actions and my thoughts take little detours all the time. Oh well, I'm never bored.
I forgot to tell you (See what I mean?) - I like Mr. Moose a lot!
I don't think I've seen a painting on black background yet that I haven't loved. It is one of those things I too want to try one of these days. I love Mr. Moose and all of his 'hearty' glory. That wry expression on his face is wonderful!
I don't think I've ever seen a moose painting quite like this--SO COOL!!
I loved it when they came out with the 3" thick canvases....you carry the painting right off the side...and all of a sudden it's 3-D....and another bonus..is that you don't have to get the artwork framed!
thanks for sharing your mr.moose! he's cute....
ciao
He is darling! I think the black background worked out very well. It gives him a very earthy quality.
Wonderful nature painting :-)
