A 20 Minute Painting that took 30 Minutes

This painting started out to be a 20 minute painting, but I was talking to my daughters, and it ended up being more like 30 minutes.  The 20 minute paintings are a great exercise, and I've always loved spontaneous Art with lots of brushstrokes...so, that's becoming a goal of mine.  I tend to blend...A LOT.  Hopefully, I will be painting 16X20 canvases, in 20 minutes, with thick, juicy brushstrokes...eventually.

I'm learning a lot about myself through these quick paintings.  It's very hard for me to leave the imperfections.  I want to clean everything up, finish adding shadows, and get the correct proportions.  But, I love seeing more movement, and those brushstrokes...so, I think I'm loosening up a bit. LOL

Dear Deb - this twenty min. painting is terrific. It does have such a great spontaneous feel. Just goes to show that sometimes it doesn't take days, weeks and months to paint something gorgeous. I love the orange that you selected to capture the eye. Thanks for sharing - hope to see more of these my friend.

I'm tickled by the fact that your signature on this piece makes it look like she has a tattoo! LOL It is perfect! It takes me weeks to do even one painting. I'm proud of you and this came out fun and yet still has your style.
