A Portrait of Rudy

Happy Sunday!  I hope it's as beautiful where you are...as it is here.

I finished a small portrait of our cat, Rudy, the other day.  Rudy is the white cat that adopted us at the espresso shop...and now lives with us.  He is such a colorful guy...so I decided to paint him in brilliant color.

I used water color pencils and acrylic paints, on canvas, for this piece.  I think I've found a new love, too.  I am so enjoying the water color pencils on canvas!  Who knew it would be so much fun.  That reminds me...I need to order more colors...better do that now.

I'll be back soon with another painting I'm working on.

I have never actively searched for a pet, like you, I let them find me.
My last cat was retrieved from the engine of a parked jeep in the West Village. I heard it crying and got on the ground, reached up under the front wheel into the engine and grabbed it.
She was tiny, at first I thought I had rescued a mouse. We spent many good years together. I am waiting for the next feline to approach me.
I got off track, just wanted to say your Rudy image had me charmed and now I want to try watercolor pencil.
I do not know why I have never used them before. Thanks for the inspiration.

So bright and adorable is your cat all painted on a very thick gallery wrapped canvas. Way cool!
