New Frida Cat painting

Frida Cat SOLD

Frida Kahlo's artwork is inspiring... she's one of my favorite artists. I've always enjoyed her sense of color, and she seemed to love animals as much as I do. I have a new little Frida Cat to share. She is painted on a 2x2 inch gallery wrapped canvas...very small...and so much fun to create!

Yummy Scones

When I have time, I love to watch Giada on the Food Network. The other day she made Strawberry Rosemary Scones...they looked so yummy...I had to try them. OH, MY! They are the best scones that I have ever eaten! So easy, too! The FRESH Rosemary is the secret, don't leave it out. I didn't add the jam, because they are sweet enough for me as they are. Enjoy!!! http://tinyurl.com/pes2ka

The Rest Of The Gang

GusGus and Rudy have made several appearances here. Riley was in my first post on this blog and then there's Bailey...Riley's baby. Weighing in at over 80 lbs now. Here are a few pictures of the gang...hmmmmm? I wonder how hard it would be to get one picture of the whole gang? Probably pretty difficult...

RORY

Oppea says THANK YOU!!! For all of the lovely comments about her.
We think her green eyes come from her love of Peas. I forgot and said the WORD last night...(we have to spell...P E A S...) She was sitting at the kitchen table...looked up at me and jumped for the freezer. I'm starting to think she has a Pea addiction.

Next in line...Our Jack Russell Terrorist, Rory. She doesn't mean to hunt every living creature on our property, but she can't help herself. She did lose her evening privileges, however, when she surprised a deer bedded down for the night...that was frightening. Rory is very loving with GusGus, nice to the cats and extremely smart...she's learned many tricks for treats. Rory is a fun member of our family!

All The Animals in Our Zoo!!!

I haven't introduced all of our fur family...so I'm going to do that, one at a time, and tell their story. First and oldest...Abbie re-named Oppea by our oldest daughter...who re-names everyone. Our youngest daughter and I were coming out of Wal-Mart about 11 years ago and a Mom with two little boys had one last kitten. She wasn't very cute...and the boys said, "If we take her home, our dad said he'd shoot her". The mom said, "Oh, No, he wouldn't do that". Well, we took Abbie, just in case, and as we were leaving the mom said...You did save her life. Hmmm? I won't say what I was thinking... Oppea has been such a sweet, loving addition to our family. She's very smart and can tell us exactly what she wants... She loves green peas and will sit by the freezer until you warm some up for her. She has the most gorgeous eyes, which I haven't been able to capture on camera, yet. And, Oppea has white whiskers on one side of her face and black on the other. She's very unique and we love her very much!

OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING!!!

It's such a gorgeous morning! I just had to take a few photos to share. Life has been so busy...we seem to be forgetting to stop and enjoy the sunshine, trees and quiet of the forest. Looking at our dogs...they know how to enjoy their day...I'm taking note of their example and today we are taking in the simple things...like our juicy peaches and a walk in the woods! I hope you all have an equally delicious day!

I LOVE Autumn!!!

Autumn Kitty SOLD

I love the colors of Autumn! Oregon is gorgeous in the Fall, with the golds, reds and oranges blazing on the hillsides against a bright blue sky. It's like a beautiful Impressionistic painting. The color has inspired a black kitty painting with an abstract, Autumn colored background. Kitty really pops against the bright color. I hope he brings a smile or two. :-)

Have a wonderful day!!!

September 11, 2001

I can't believe it's been 8 years. As we often say, "It seems like it was yesterday". I remember standing in front of the television...with tears in my eyes and a knot in my stomach. My way of handling the horror and pain...two paintings... painted that day... that I have never shared, but want to share now.

Getting Ready...

Here is the first photo of my Table Leg Doll... Of course, if it goes well, I'm going to have to sculpt some Cat Table Leg Dolls...we'll see. Oh, and GusGus is resting in the sun...getting ready for his walk tonight!

Checking In

Paintings SOLD

We have a lot going on lately, so I haven't had a chance to check in. The 'fun' has been visiting with Family and Friends. The 'Work' is tiling our shower/bath and getting ready for new carpet in two of our bedrooms...need to do some wall painting...which I'm very slow at. More fun...a few paintings in progress, and I've started my 'Table Leg Doll' from Jane's class. I'll have to post a before picture. OH, and I almost forgot all of the yard work...which I need to get to before our daughter goes back to college. She's holding down the coffee shop, so I can get a few things done.

We've, also, started walking the hills in our neighborhood. The dogs LOVE IT! We get the leash out and they start jumping up and down for joy! GusGus thinks I'm too slow...I haven't ran in 5 years...so it's going to be a while until I can keep up with him! The Vet did say he had the little legs of an athlete. I'll have to try to get a picture of him on a walk. He's just so HAPPY...I laugh the whole time watching him.

Ok, back to work! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
